Permanent exhibition of the Museum of Slavic Literature
The Museum of Slavic Literature "Slovo" is a museum and educational complex for children and adults, which has no analogues in Russia, a kind of attraction for both lovers of the Russian language and connoisseurs of architecture, culture and history. Here you can learn how writing is developing in Russia and the world, what role it plays in the lives of different peoples and how it has come into contact with oral speech for many centuries.
The first part of the exhibition tells the visitor about the origin and development of writing from ancient times to the present day, the second — about how texts are connected with the spiritual, cultural and political life of society. The third part is dedicated to the history and future of the main symbols of writing — letters. The final part — "Unwritten Culture" - is dedicated to the fate of oral speech. It tells about folklore, linguistic features, non-verbal communication. Guests can listen to lullabies and epics and watch videos while in special felt cocoons.
